Hello

Mark has pastored the church since early 1995 and has built a church culture of acceptance and grace, based on a fundamental belief that Jesus-centred local churches are vital to the communities around them. 

 

Mark became a Christian at the age of 5 when he realised that he needed to put Jesus in charge of his life.  

He passionately believes in the power of God to change lives and transform situations and has a heart for people; He is happiest when talking with people about his faith and he strives to reach out to people and encourages and equips the church to do the same. Serving as one of the local police chaplains he regularly visits and supports the officers and teams working from the police stations in Broxtowe & Bulwell.

Mark and Sarah have been married since 1991 and have two grown up sons, two lovely daughters-in-law and a beautiful grandaughter. Sarah works for Derby City Council, and serves the church as treasurer, keyboard player and provider of toasted tea-cakes at the Afternoon In.

Ark Church has been serving the local community since the late 1940's when the church was established

around  the "new estates" on Strelley Road. In an area where many people experience difficulties, our church

is a constant amidst the chaos for some and a place of calm and acceptance in a challenging world.
